Andrew Lees Prize

UKELA organises an annual article competition, the winner of which is awarded the 'Andrew Lees Prize'. The winner of the 2010 competition was Thomas Cleaver, a pupil barrister at Blackstone Chambers. For the first time in 2010 the competition was judged by article and presentation with Q&A. The question was: "The UK's care of the environment has been more hindered than enhanced by European Law?" The winner secured a free place at UKELA's annual conference at Exeter University in June. The finalists were Elspeth Wrigley of 1 Crown Office Row; Oliver Newman of BPP and Matthew Hunt of Holman Fenwick Willan. The winning article will appear here shortly.
