Book now for the Annual Conference!

For the first time in UKELA's long history, we are heading online for our Annual Conference.  Join us for rich and varied content starting at 4pm on Thursday 25th June and running through to close on Friday 26th June

Themes

We will be addressing highly topical themes across 6 plenary sessions, covering Marine Environment, the Rule of Law, Climate Resilience, Environmental Regulation and Net Zero. And that's not all - we will also take the chance to reflect on the challenges and opportunities afforded the world of environmental law of Covid-19. Finally, we will take a virtual trip around the world for updates from the USA, Europe as well as right here in the UK.

Our specialist Working Parties will deliver lunchtime sessions on Friday 26th June, spanning nature conservation through to noise.

Keynote Speaker

We are indeed honoured that our Keynote Address will be delivered by Lord Carnwath, UKELA's President.  In the wake of his recent retirement from the Supreme Court, Lord Carnwath will speak on a theme of Climate Change and the Law, on Friday morning.  Not to be missed!

After Dinner Speaker

Whilst we won't be together in person for our usual Gala Dinner, we will be firmly there in spirit! We are delighted that our after dinner speaker is the renowned explorer and leader of science expedititions, Paul Rose. Paul will broadcast live from Geneva on the evening of Thursday 25th June.

Social

Every annual conference has a social aspect and this one is no different.  So do join us for informal sessions during the day and in the evening on both Thursday and Friday. We will have fun activities ranging from a light-hearted quiz, to yoga.  The bar will be open for cocktails and mocktails.

How to Book

You can find out more on our website. The conference is FREE to UKELA members. If you are not a current member, there is a small charge which includes free membership for the remainder of 2021.  We look forward to you joining us!
