Enforcement and compliance on environmental matters in the face of Brexit

Join us at The University of Birmingham for this seminar on Brexit; the most profound and politically important issue of the moment in the UK

This seminar will take place in the Harding Moot Room at The University of Birmingham.

The first session will be at 11am and will start with some scene setting by Professor Bob Lee and Dr Aleks Cawoski.

They are followed by United Nations SR Baskut Tuncak who will speak about his country visit to the UK and the impact of Brexit on human rights and toxics.

The first panel will feature Carol Day from Leigh Day, speaking on Aarhus, Will Rundle, Head of Legal at Friends of the Earth on the environmental protections proposed for the Withdrawal Bill, and Dr Anna Watson of ChemTrust on the implications for REACH, and a debate will follow. Lunch is provided and the second session will feature a representative from UKELA speaking on the proposals for the new environmental body, researchers from Law Colleges, and then a debate on this topic.
