Climate Change and the Right to Protest

Wednesday 6 November 2019 Squire Patton Boggs
4.30pm - 6.30pm
Organised by CCEWP/ELWP

In the first of two UKELA events this Autumn on environmental activism, the Climate Change and Energy Working Party and the Environmental Litigation Working Party are convening a seminar on climate change litigation and the right to protest.

Special Offer - book both events and receive a discount - more via the link.

Our speakers will consider the wide array of climate change litigation and protests that are currently taking place and how this may affect business as usual for the corporate world as well as the impact on government policy. As Extinction Rebellion continue to make headlines, we look forward to discussing the legal issues their protests raise.

Our distinguished panel of speakers is as follows:

  • Rob Elvin, Managing Partner, Squire Patton Boggs (Chair)
  • Stephen Hockman QC, 6 Pump Court Chambers
  • Zion Lights, Extinction Rebellion spokesperson
  • Anna Dews, Associate Solicitor Leigh Day
A representative from HM Government has also been invited to address the seminar.

The second event is a full day event - the 2019 Conference on Wild Law and Activism
