UK Environment Lawyer/Law and Policy Advisor (Marine & Fisheries)

We have an exciting opportunity in our London office for a reliable, self-motivated lawyer to join our UK Environment team to advocate for the protection of the UK’s marine environment and good management of fisheries as the UK prepares to leave the European Union.

Job description

The position will support the wider environmental community through legal analysis and advocacy. They will work in close cooperation with and support the partners, coalitions and networks in which ClientEarth is active, as well as working directly with MPs, government and other stakeholders and engaging with social and traditional media.

Experience and skills required

The successful candidate will have experience in a legal practice or other legal role that allowed for a degree of autonomy in decision-making and work planning. They will be an excellent communicator, with strong legal analysis skills and an interest in using these to support public interest environmental advocacy work. They will also ideally have knowledge of UK, EU and international environmental laws (especially fisheries and marine laws) and law making processes.

Salary: From £39,000 per annum depending on experience
