Dragons of Justice: igniting environmental careers in Wales

Join us for a careers advice session on training and working in environmental law aimed at those based in Wales. Together, let's pave the way to a brighter, more sustainable future (online, FREE). Timing: 5.30pm to 7pm

If you are interested in a career related to environmental law in Wales, then this virtual FREE event is for you! 

 

 

UKELA, in association with Cardiff University School of Law and Politics, is holding a careers event for students keen to learn more about the various pathways into a career in environmental law in Wales. You will hear from speakers with professional experience across a range of sectors, including barristers, solicitors, government and environmental bodies. Speakers will talk about the rewards and challenges of jobs in these sectors; you will also get a chance to learn some useful tips for students interested in similar career routes.

The event will be held virtually on Thursday 12 October, 5.30-7pm.

 

Meet our speakers

  • Sarah Asbrey  - Head of Legal Services at Natural Resources Wales, a solicitor with extensive experience. NRW is the largest Welsh Government Sponsored Body, formed in April 2013, largely taking over the functions of the Countryside Council for Wales, Forestry Commission Wales and the Environment Agency in Wales, as well as certain Welsh Government functions. NRW is responsible for ensuring Wales’ natural resources are sustainably managed.

  • Sioned Davies, No 5 Chambers


  • Tim Edds, Partner, Browne Jacobson specialising in matters involving assessments of public and administrative law risk, particularly those matters with a Welsh devolution focus. Tim previously worked as an in-house Welsh Government lawyer, as well as previously in Environment Agency Wales (now Natural Resources Wales).
