View of Ennerdale
Fully booked

We are thrilled to be running our wild law weekend once again after a gap of 4 years. Join us at Ennerdale youth hostel in the Lake District over the weekend of 28 April to 1 May 2023.  This event is now fully booked. Look out for details of the 2024 event.

Summary of weekend

The weekend is based at Ennerdale youth hostel situated in the Lake District. There will be activities out in the hills and environmental discussions in the evenings. A minibus will be provided for transport to and from Carlisle station.

Transport arrangements (examples, train times may change when new timetables are published):

Friday 28th April aim to arrive in Carlisle by 17.00

Eg: train from London Euston to Carlisle at 13.30, arrive Carlisle at 16.48

Mini bus will pick up from Carlisle station at 17.15 and drive delegates to youth hostel (41 miles, 1 hour, 30 minutes).

If you would like a seat on the minibus, please let us know on the booking form – otherwise we shall assume you will make your own way to the hostel. Please note that the hostel only has a small car park with space for three cars (one of which will be our minibus). Parking is not permitted on the forest road outside the hostel. There is more parking at Bowness Knott car park. The hostel encourages car sharing and if the car park is full, passengers can be dropped and return to Bowness Knott car park before leaving your car there and proceeding the rest of the way on foot.

Directions to the hostel

Monday 1st May mini bus leaves youth hostel at 08.00 to arrive in Carlisle by 09.30. There is a London train at 09.48, arrive London Euston 13.12

Accommodation and food
Situated in a remote wooded valley and surrounded by fells, ridges and famous peaks, Ennerdale youth hostel, in the form of converted forestry cottages, makes for a cosy rural retreat.

Perfect for outdoor activity breaks, the hostel is surrounded by great terrain for walking, scaling ridges and scrambling. YHA Ennerdale has an off-grid, hydro-electric power supply and even generates its own drinking water.

We have booked the entire hostel for the weekend. Sleeping accommodation is in small dormitory rooms with separate shared bathroom facilities. Rooming will be sorted out nearer the time.
