UKELA is delighted to strengthen its links with the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) through the CBA’s forthcoming summit in Montreal on 27 to 28 April.

UKELA Trustee, Simon Tilling, Partner at Burges Salmon LLP, is to speak at the CBA’s Environmental, Energy and Resources Law Summit.

Speaking today, Simon said “I am excited to be helping re-inforce the professional connections between UKELA and the CBA. The Annual Summit is a great opportunity to learn from a key jurisdiction and share knowledge with fellow practitioners engaged in creating and implementing better law for the environment.”

The 2017 Annual Summit will survey a broad range of topics on emerging trends and recent developments in environmental, energy and natural resources law at Canada’s federal and provincial levels.

Leading experts from across Canada will provide updates on case law decisions, the Species at Risk Act, and federal and provincial enforcement trends.

“Our organising committee has put together a great agenda and participants and speakers will be able to engage in discussions on a variety of topics including water law, land contamination, climate change and international perspectives, environmental assessment, environmental aspects of business transactions, recent developments as well as the confluence of agriculture and environmental law.” said Mira Gauvin, Summit Co-Chair.

"The 2017 Annual Summit is a wonderful forum to meet colleagues from across Canada and offers ample networking opportunities for further discussion in beautiful Montreal!”
