UKELA’s New Look for 2016
Mar 01, 2016
UKELA launches a new look today, with a revised logo and fresh website at https://www.ukela.org.
An initial survey confirmed that we have a strong offer and that members value the quality of events and the work of our specialist working parties and regional groups. In addition, our annual conference has been given consistently strong support, with bi-monthly journal, E-law, also receiving a clear “thumbs up”. Our image though was seen as outdated and a bit “fusty”, with our main website, ukela.org, in need of a fresh look and easier user interface.
“We wanted our communications to reflect UKELA’s inclusiveness, authority and professionalism” said Executive Director, Linda Farrow, “and chose the distinctive circular logo from a range of options. We then moved on to think about website design from first principles and, with the help of our consultants, came up with a lighter, brighter look for the site.”
Alison Boyd, UKELA’s Events and Membership Manager, has done much of the thinking on the site map and content, drawing on her extensive knowledge of what members want. “The new website is easier to navigate, with clearer signposting. We have also introduced member-only content to enhance the membership experience” said Alison.
UKELA is progressively applying the new brand – including a simpler strapline, “better law for the environment” - in the first few months of 2016. Feedback from members and non-members alike is very welcome – just post your comments on our “contact us” form on the website.
The UK Environmental Law Association aims to make the law work for a better environment and to improve understanding and awareness of environmental law. UKELA’s members are involved in the practice, study or formulation of Environmental Law in the UK and the European Union. It attracts both lawyers and non-lawyers and has a broad membership from the private and public sectors.
UKELA prepares advice to government with the help of its specialist working parties, covering a range of environmental law topics.
