Upcoming Events

Details of a social event in early September coming soon.

The next in our series of 'The Basics' Seminars will be on the regulatory framework for controlling pollution from plastic waste and will be held on Thursday 5th December at Francis Taylor Building. Keep the date free and look out for booking details coming later in the year.

Young UKELA holds two to three seminars every year on a wide range of topics. Our highly successful ‘The Basics’ seminars are designed to provide an introduction to a particular environmental law topic and are continuing into 2020. If you have any ideas for a particular topic that you think merits an introductory seminar organised by Young UKELA, please contact one of the organisers.

Past seminars include nuclear law, fisheries law and environmental litigation. We cover key issues and hot topics, with experienced and knowledgeable speakers, and ensure there are opportunities for questions from our attendees.

We also put on a couple of social gatherings for young UKELA members - these include guided walks, drinks and informal meals.

Events are informal and inclusive, so do join in.

About Young UKELA

Young UKELA was launched in November 2008. The aim of Young UKELA is to provide a forum for more junior practitioners, up to about seven years post-qualification, with an interest in environmental law or anyone new to environmental law. We provide training and education, a space for debate and opportunities for professional development and networking, as well as social events. All are welcome at our popular seminars and social events. Our activities aim to complement the range of seminars and groups active within UKELA as a whole.

Young UKELA events are organised by Ned Westaway, Heather Hamilton, Simone Davidson, Emma Lui and Mark Davies.
