Our next event in 2016 is on the topic of Habitats Law and will be held in November. More details including how to book will be advertised soon. We are also delighted to bring you a summer social on 11 September - join us for Dotmaker Tours' London Ear walk - a relaxed and informative stroll around the City learning about the sounds that make up London. Booking details coming soon.
Young UKELA holds 2 to 3 seminars every year on a wide range of topics. Our highly successful "The Basics" seminars have run throughout 2015 and are continuing in 2016. We have covered key issues and hot topics, with experienced and knowledgeable speakers. Topics covered since our launch include:
Managing the Marine Environment; International Environmental Law; Renewables; Waste: The Basics; Contaminated Land: The Basics; Nuisance: The Basics; EIA: The Basics; Wildlife Crime; Environmental Litigation: The Basics; Environmental JR: The Basics; Environmental Permitting: The Basics; Air Quality: The Basics.
We also joined together last summer for a environmental law themed guided tour around London, finishing with a very welcome beer tasting session at a local brewery.
About Young UKELA
Young UKELA was launched in November 2008. The aim of Young UKELA is to provide a forum for more junior practitioners, up to about seven years post-qualification, with an interest in environmental law (although all are welcome at our popular events). We provide training and education, a space for debate and opportunities for professional development and networking, as well as social events. Our activities aim to complement the range of seminars and groups active within UKELA as a whole.
Young UKELA events are organised by James Burton, Ned Westaway and Heather Hamilton.
