UKELA South West | Water Series - Troubled waters: navigating the legal challenges facing the water industry

Join UKELA South West for the final event in the hugely popular Water Series; this will feature a roundtable discussion focussing on the challenges faced by the water industry in 2024. Time:  5.30 pm registration for 6.00 pm start to 7.30 pm (in person / Bristol).

Join UKELA South West in Bristol on Thursday 16 May for an in-person roundtable event where we will be hosting an open and frank discussion about the key issues currently facing the water industry.

UKELA South West will be joined by Simon Tilling, UKELA trustee and Environmental Lawyer at Pennon Group Plc, Michael Barlow, Partner and Head of Environment at Burges Salmon, and Gareth De Graff, Executive Director of UKELA, who will be chairing the discussion.

This event, which will be held under Chatham House rules, will explore, from a legal viewpoint, the unique challenges faced by the industry, covering everything from the impact of climate change on water resilience strategy to the efficacy of regulation in the sector. The session is intended to create a safe and open forum for all delegates to explore in more depth this complex area, potentially finding some solutions along the way.

The event, which is being generously sponsored by Cornerstone Barristers, will be held at Burges Salmon’s Bristol offices (see directions) with registration (including drinks and canapes), opening at 5:30 for a 6pm start.
