Frequently Asked Questions


  • How do I set my password?

Click 'Forgot my Password' on the log in page. On the Password Request page, enter your Username and click submit.  Once your password is emailed to you, you can use it to access your personal landing page, where you can change your password to something more memorable if you wish.

  • What is my username?

Your username is your email address.  Remember this will be the email address you used to set up your UKELA membership.  If it does not work, please get in touch.

  • I've accidentally locked myself out of my account.  What should I do?

Please get in touch. We can reset your account for you.

  • How do I change my username or password?

Log into your account.  From there, select preferences.  At the bottom of the page, you can click on the link to change password/username. Choose your new username or password and click save. 

  • How do I update my contact information?

You will need to log in first.  This will take you to your personal landing page.  Once there, you can update your information.  Remember to do this when you move jobs or if any of your personal details change eg change of name.  This will help us keep up to date records, thank you.

  • What is UKELA doing with my personal information?

We are storing your information securely in the CRM system.  It is only accessible by you and members of the UKELA staff team.  We will use your contact details to let you know about UKELA related activity, such as our events programme; send you our members' journal and let you know about any offers.  Our GDPR rules continue to apply and you can read them on our website.  

  • Who can see my public profile?

Only you.  Members can access and update the information we hold.  It allows you greater control over your own information. 

  • Are my card details safe?

Yes completely.  The system is fully protected and we do not have access to your card details at any time. 

  • How do I access the Members Only pages?

You must have an active UKELA membership to access the Members Only pages.  You can find the Members Only pages via the drop down menu under Reading Room.  Do check back for new information, as we update these pages regularly.  If you cannot find the Members Only page you are looking for, please get in touch.

  • How do I check and pay an invoice?

Navigate to transactions from your account page. There you will be able to see all open invoices, orders and settled (closed) invoices. To pay an open invoice, click on the invoice number and follow the on screen instructions.

  • How do I activate UKELA membership?

  • Will membership renewal be automatic?

If you pay by direct debit, then your membership will renew automatically as usual.  We hope to introduce automatic renewal using a card payment in the future.  If you would like to set up a direct debit, please get in touch.

  • What is the difference between individual and corporate membership?

  • I have a technical issue with the website.  What do I do?

Check first that the issue is not something your end, via your IT contact.  If it is not, then please let us know.  We will endeavour to put out messages on social media about any updating or similar that may restrict access on rare occasions.    

  • Is there something else not covered here?

We will add to this FAQ section as we go.  If there is something you wanted to know, that we have not covered, please get in touch and we can add it so that others can read the response too.
