e-law student publication opportunity

Interested in co-authoring a hot topic article with a environmental professional? We provide opportunities for students to publish their work in our members' journal, e-law, circulated to over 1500 practitioners. Please submit a short (less than 500 words) abstract for consideration by email to our Student Advisors. If selected, your article should be written with the assistance of a practitioner in that field. Articles can be on the e-law issue theme or on any topic related to environmental law.

Student Advisers

Two student advisers are appointed for a period of two years to act as an interface between student members and UKELA's Council. They help ensure UKELA is as relevant and accessible to student members as possible. They keep Council up to date with student activity and keep student members informed about forthcoming competitions, volunteering opportunities and events via a student networking Google group and social media channels. New for 2023 they'll be producing a termly student newsletter!

We're delighted to confirm the appointment of two new advisers:

  • Rhys Gowen (Swansea University)
  • Zia Maxwell (BPP London)

Zia Maxwell

I studied International Disaster Management and Humanitarian Response at the University of Manchester, and am now doing the GDL at BPP Waterloo. I’m hoping to become a solicitor in environmental law and use law to protect the natural environment.

Rhys Gowen

I am currently a PHD student at Swansea University. I have a passion for nature conservation and environmental protection. As such, I intend to practice as a solicitor where I can apply the law to enhance the natural environment.
