We are delighted to announce that David Shukman, British journalist, and former Science Editor of BBC News will deliver this year's keynote address.

As the BBC’s first Science Editor, David led its coverage of research and the environment for nearly twenty years. Praised by Sir David Attenborough as “a leader in raising awareness of the climate emergency”, he won awards for his pioneering reports from remote frontlines including the Arctic and the Amazon.

Now working as an independent speaker and consultant, David has been providing advice on net zero to leadership teams, giving keynotes to sustainability officers, pension funds and investment banks and moderating high-level discussions for the public and private sectors including the WHO and the Sustainable Markets Initiative. He is a Visiting Professor in Practice at the LSE’s Grantham Research Institute, a member of the Advisory Board of Oxford University’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment and an adviser to The Goals House.

David will deliver the keynote address at 3.15pm on Friday 14 June, live at the University of Manchester.  For full programme details and to book your ticket, click here.
