Ned Westaway

Ned is a barrister practising at Francis Taylor Building; he is ranked as a leading junior by Chambers and Partners for environmental law, planning law and agricultural and rural affairs; he is on Attorney General’s panel of counsel and has an LLM (environmental laws) from UCL. He is also UKELA's Chair. 

Morag Ellis QC

Morag is widely recognised as a leading expert in planning, environmental and local government law in England and Wales. She is consistently praised in the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 Guides and the Planning Magazine Survey of barristers and was named as Planning and Environment Silk of the year in 2015. She has been recognised as a 2020 "Woman of Influence" by The Planner magazine.  She is a member of the Silks' Panel to the Welsh Government and a past Chairman of the Planning and Environment Bar Association.  In 2020, Morag was appointed as the Dean of the Arches and Auditor and Master of Faculties. As such, she is the senior ecclesiastical judge in England.

Merrow Golden

Merrow specialises in planning, environmental and public law. She has recently been ranked as a “rising star” in both Environment and Planning sectors (Legal 500 2022). She is also ranked as one of the top rated planning juniors under 35 (Planning Magazine 2021, 2020, 2019). Merrow studied Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge before going on to study law.  She has a First Class law degree from City Law School, London, and a masters degree from Columbia Law School, New York.  Prior to starting her pupillage, Merrow worked as a Foreign Law Clerk for Justice Edwin Cameron at the Constitutional Court of South Africa and she is a qualified attorney in the state of New York.

Robert McCracken QC

Robert is a leading public, planning and environmental silk. He appears at all levels from the European Court of Justice to magistrates courts and planning inquiries. He is recognised as a leading silk by Chambers Directory in the fields of Environment and Planning.  He  is a former Chairman of UKELA(1995-97). Robert is Visiting Professor at King's College London and Quondam Fellow of the Centre for European Law, King's College, London.
