Wild Law Weekend 2024 - Wales
This year we explore the theme of how the monetisation of nature interacts with rights of nature with a mixture of talks, a visit to a local site and the option to hike in the spectacular local countryside. We are staying at the Centre for Alternative Technology in mid-Wales for three nights.
We are delighted to announce that the Wild Law Weekend 2024 will take place on 3-6 May and will be based at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in mid-Wales.
During the weekend we will be exploring a theme of how the monetisation of nature interacts with rights of nature. We are still planning the weekend’s schedule, but we expect to include:
- Friday evening: arrive at CAT (via group minibus from Telford Central train station or independently) in time for dinner followed by an update on legal developments re rights of nature.
- Saturday: visit a local site where the practical impacts of monetising ecosystem restoration can be seen; return to CAT late afternoon for a panel discussion, followed by dinner.
- Sunday: a day to explore the local area – likely an option to climb Cadar Idris or join a low level walk; return to CAT for dinner and a post-dinner presentation.
- Monday: travel home (minibus from CAT to Telford Central train station for onward train travel or independent travel)
The timings for the minibus to leave on Friday 3 May and to drop people off on 6 May 4 May at Telford Central train station are to be confirmed.
The weekend will cost £235 per person. This includes 3 nights accommodation in the Eco-cabins which are a mixture of twin and 4-person bunk rooms and minibus transport to/from Telford Central. The weekend is fully catered (starting with dinner on Friday and ending with a packed lunch on Monday).
